Principal's Message
For the last 23 years, my college has been trying to empower boys and girls in rural areas through higher education. I have been holding the post of Principal since December 2010. Worked as a professor for 15 years before the post of principal and served in rural areas for a total of 28 years. After this long experience, in the recent decade, students are not getting jobs, all the parents thought that if their son got a job, he would have a dream that his next life would be happy, he was educating his child. But this dashed his dreams and his parents turned to his traditional profession as you will not get a job after HSC. He has no skill training. Our aim to students reflects the particular quality and feature of an individual, including the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that are expected to be acquired by students through studies at the college.
The graduate attributes include capabilities that help strengthen one’s abilities for widening current knowledge base and skills, gaining new knowledge and skills, undertaking future studies, performing well in a chosen career and playing a constructive role as a responsible citizen in the society. Amidst demands of constant change put forth by a globalized economy, the higher education sector in India is going through its transformation stage. India forecast to be one of the youngest countries in the world gearing towards knowledge- based leadership. Aligning this, the National Education Policy aims to meet the changing educational requirements, innovation and research through bringing in the host of changes in the education system, right from the pre-primary years to higher education. NEP promotes rigorous research-based specialization and opportunities for multidisciplinary work and interdisciplinary thinking at the graduate, masters and doctoral level education in large multidisciplinary universities. One of the major changes was changing the year undergraduate (UG) or Bachelor’s degree programme to year Multidisciplinary UG Programme with multiple entry and exit options to orient the students with right skill attitude and employability. With introduction of Academic Bank of Credits, students can move between different universities if they need and collect credits based other work.
These credits can be collected transferred and go into the final degree earned. In order to fulfil the objectives of expansion, access, equity and inclusion, quality and excellence in higher education all university and college campuses would need to be transformed to become more holistic learning environments that enrich students with new knowledge and skills to engage meaningfully in the emerging socio-economic transformation. More importantly, the college campuses should nurture education and research activities that are alive to the dynamics of the society and industry in the neighbourhood and guide and support them not just in terms of human resource but also through relevant studies, research and innovation on the campus and in the university at large. Thus, our college envisages a holistic and multidisciplinary education system that would aim to develop all capacities of human being intellectual, aesthetic, social, physical, emotional, ethical and moral in an integrated manner.
Baburao Patil college the challenging task of moulding the young impressionable minds into valuable assets of the society, precious gift of mankind and pride of human race. And this is made possible by the only and one and all of our college worthy Hon. Rajanji Patil who is the exponent of this institution. It gives me great pleasure to express my deep sense of gratitude and respect for him for infusing confidence, and sense of enthusiasm in me and above all entrusting me with this challenging and pious mission. We under his supreme guidance are providing holistic and quality education to the students. At the end I would like to extend my best wishes to all our students, staff, parents and alumni.
